Happy New Year Everyone! I’ve got broad visions for this upcoming year for myself and regardless of what’s going on in the news I’m choosing to try and see the positive things in my life.

In order for me to achieve my vision I’m going to have to work hard to build some new habits. I’m going to use some of the techniques from a great book on habits, “Tiny Habits by BJ Fogg, PhD.” The basic premise of the book is that building a new habit shouldn’t be something big like, “running everyday” but should start with, “Today, I’m going to put on my running shoes and go outside” Maybe it should be even easier to achieve and just be “Today, I’m going to put on my running shoes.” After you’ve achieved success by putting on your shoes for a few days you gradually add in running when you can. You don’t start from a negative, “Bummer I didn’t run today, I’m a failure.” You start from “I’m awesome I put on my shoes to run!” By doing this you slowly build the big habit of running. It’s an affiliate link so by buying the book from there you’re indirectly helping me achieve one of my goals, namely getting this art career to be a little more self sustaining. So, THANKS for that. 🙂

This week is going to be great! I’ve got a list of things I want to get done. Blogging is one of them. I need to get my library card so I can save some money by not buying books and movies I want to see. I’m going to be adding in products to the store part of my website. For some reason that feels like the hardest thing. Taking pictures of things I created and sharing them to my store. Sharing my work is something I struggle with in general. The fear of being an imposter, aka IMPOSTER SYNDROME, is something I deal with a lot.

So, in order to help myself get beyond that feeling. I’m going to share the things I find fun. My theme for this year is, “For the FUN of it!” I feel like this could help me share the fun things I discover beyond just my art.

Ok, going to stop for today. Gotta go make some coffee. Have a great day everybody!
